Google is known for great care in constantly busy market areas that could yield high returns in the future. Whereas in the past, applications and over again, which could merge the gap between online and offline, Google is now at the interface to the WWW from user point of view - the browser. All Google services have been offered free of charge and are likely in the future - including Crome of the new browser from Google. This is not about törricht, because that gets Google something much more valuable - information about the customer behavior and consumer habits. This makes it possible for one of the main business area, the search engine Google to strengthen and improve the user and the other is transparent and can be lured and enticed with new offers and services.

Things are different now even with Crome. This collects every happy surfing action data and sends it to the Google headquarters, where they are processed and used. But in times of privacy discussion I think this hoarding of data Octopus Google more than questionable. And I can understand so much the desire for targetbaren users and tolerate up to a certain extent, to me this "monitoring" of the surfing behavior goes too far.

According to the privacy policy of Google following information is collected:

  • In the Address Bar Typed URLs or search queries sent to Google, so the proposal function will automatically search terms or URLs can be recommended. If you want to send usage statistics to Google and you accept a suggested query or URL, Google Chrome also sends this information to Google. You can disable this feature as explained here.
  • You requested does not exist URLs may be sent to Google, so we can help you find the desired URL. You can disable this feature as explained here.
  • The "Safe Search" is regularly connect to Google's servers to download the most current list of known phishing and malware sites. In addition, when you visit a site that could be a phishing or malware site, your browser an encrypted copy of a portion of the URL sent this site to Google, so we can send you more information about these potentially dangerous URL. Google is the real URL you visit, can not determine from this information.
  • Your copy of Google Chrome includes one or more unique application numbers. These numbers and information about the installation of the browser (such as version number, language) will be used during initial installation and use of the application and automatic update check from Google Chrome to Google gesendet.Falls send usage statistics and crash reports to Google, We include this information as well as a unique application number of the browser übermittelt.Ausfallberichte information from files, applications and services that were running at the time of a problem. Use of crash reports can be diagnosed and solved problems browser.
  • You can set Google as a search engine using Google Chrome and you can use Google Chrome to other Google services to access, such as Google Mail.Die applicable privacy policy of Gmail or other services, regardless of the browser as soon as they are on this access services. It will not send any personal information to Google, if you connect from Google Chrome to connect to Google services.

This collection of data that includes, in conjunction with the other services of Google a significant amount of information moves, including the Federal Agency for Security in Information Technology (BIS) to warn against Google Chrome, since such Anhäufig of data at a company is questionable. Basically, however, not change the fact that the market power of Google's browser will help gain market share. Basically, the user will decide: a) how much data he is willing to give (in my experience very much) and b) how well fulfilled its purpose Crome (Crome its performance is to go off so powerfully).

I was am and will always be a faithful follower of Opera be. And even though I often use Firefox - especially professionally - I will always keep faith with Opera.

Google Chrome also does not like the rest of the colleague from the opinion blog .

Time regardless of the Datensammelei, I think Chrome for an exceptionally exciting project. If there still a lot of add-ons to come what may, what will come of it.
But anyway, I belong to those who love Google.
