Tour de France doping live coverage at Sat1 - How is the cycling never clean!

Yesterday we had reported it , that ARD and ZDF have adjusted in response to the possible re-doping of an athlete, the coverage of the Tour de France with immediate effect.

A day later, this courageous decision is undermined. The ProSiebenSat.1 Group takes over the transfer of the biggest cycling event in the world and thus signals to all drivers: "Whether or not doped doping - we continue to report to your sport and finance fraud on your audience."

I am impressed not usually a big fan of ARD and ZDF, but the decision yesterday to me. To use the waiver to rate this a sign of honesty and decency, deserves respect. So I can talk - do not understand, who think that thus no one would help - like Jens Voigt. Quite wrong, I say: "If there is no TV money would flow more in the sport of cycling, then there are no sponsors, and thus for the cycling team, no money and every cyclist would have to consider how doping can be financed and whether it makes any sense. This would be the right step and the correct character. But the ProSiebenSat.1 Group cares about such trivialities do not - must rate her, no matter what. In addition, this message makes sure that the impending mass layoffs disappear from the press . Bravo Sat1.

The decision of P7S1 I find logical and quite frankly, I welcome it even.

Who is punished for the part of the ARD and ZDF with the shutdown? Cycling? Probably less. The audience? Just the - all financed toll.

So nobody minds if both sender critically examines the issue of doping in cycling, but take your own little fight I think it is exaggerated.

In addition, the ARD is not just innocent or not involved in the whole story. Finally, it was also a sponsor for many years at Team Telekom and T-Mobile (funded by fees etc.) and has cheered the driver (who has been drugged in the end).

Now is especially a Claus Lufen play the moral high ground on (as seen in the prologue), while the transmitter should be some consistently question their own policies. Consequently would have been courageous and, not only transferred to the TdF and to waive the appropriate rate, but first to begin to indulge in the illusion that everything is now clean, and then back down, this is the wrong way.

Now I like sports €, the taboo somewhat uncritically the drug almost, but at least put the sport in the foreground, and transferred the race.

I would have liked even by ARD / ZDF - background reports, investigative journalism and education efforts would have been able to place about the transfer - that the audience wants to see this, one has seen.

Hi Little John. In this respect, we do not agree. I just think that it is better to use the drivers and teams using doping substances (yes, I am convinced that the support also comes from the team) the financial means to escape. Once that happens, it will eventually turn into a salutary shock. This is over, you can think about is how to proceed.

I quite agree with you so that ARD and ZDF had at the beginning of the reporting should surrender. That would have been more consistently. But a continued coverage brings the teams and drivers the money they have not earned. So I see this as an unjust solution though - for the handful of drivers ungedopten that there may be - but also necessary solution. € And sport with their approach to the subject, I think :-) Bah!
