Spending on online advertising to increase year after year. But while the traditional banner sizes decrease more and more, increasing sales of new formats.

The new trend in European advertising market is moving towards high-scale rich media formats. The names of these formats are called Super Banner and Medium Rectangles. These have made over the last 6 months, a huge leap in the ranking of most popular formats. The Super Banner (approximately 728 × 90 pixels) represent a 35% share of the large-scale advertising and media forms rectangle banner (320 × 250) with 33% share of the popular sizes dar. This represents growth of 7% and 6% respectively. Declined, however, are the so called Traditional banner (468 × 60) with a decrease of 13%.

The increased visuality of the banners and the increased importance of rich media formats (including streaming video) lead to a better impact and memorability of advertising.
